Reward for reading Qur'an in any language

Question:

Can you read the Qur'an in any language and get the same reward for it?

Answer:

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

If what you read is a translation of the meanings of the Qur'an, this is only an interpretation of the Qur'an and it is not the Qur'an itself. Nevertheless, we believe that the person who reads the interpretation of the Qur'an for the purpose of studying religious matters with the intention of doing what Allah has ordered and avoiding what He has forbidden (even though he reads it with some mistakes in pronunciation,) he gets a great reward similar or even greater than that of a person who reads the Qur'an itself.
Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {So keep your duty to Allâh and fear Him as much as you can;}.
Muawiya Bin Abu Sufyan said: "I heard the Prophet saying, If Allah wants to do a favor to somebody, he bestows on him, the gift of understanding the Qur'an and Sunnah". [Bukhari and Muslim].
As for the person who reads the Qur'an correctly, he has the reward of reading the Qur'an even if he reads it from a non-Arabic transcription. We point out, though, that writing the Qur'an with a transcription different from the Arabic one is forbidden by some scholars like Al-Suyuty.
Allah knows best.
