Important events during the month of Ramadan

Question:

Please provide information about the important Islamic events that occured in the Holy month of Ramadhan, with year if possible, throughout the history of Islam

Answer:

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

Ramadan is, first of all, the month of the Qur'an. Allah says: {The month of Ramadân in which was revealed the Qur'ân, …..} [2:185]
Many important battles took place in Ramadan such as:
1- The great Battle of Badr in the 2nd year of Hijra.
2- The conquest of Makkah (Fath Makkah) and it was in the 8th year of the Hijra.
3- The Battle of Al Buwaib and it took place in the 3rd years of the Hijra.
4- The conquest of Andalusi in 92 AH.
5- The conquest of Amuria in 223 AH.
6- Al-Zalaqa Battle in 479 AH.
7- Harem Battle in 559 AH.
8- Ain Jallout Battle in 681 AH.
Many eminent companions of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) died in the month of Ramadan, such as Fatimah the daughter of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) who died in 11AH, Khalid Bin Walid who died in 18AH.
During the sacred month the known scholars, Imam Ibn Majah died in 273AH and Ibn al-Jawzi in 597AH.
In Ramadan 361AH Azhar University was established.
Finally, Muslims will not forget the slaughter that took place at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Palestine where 90 people were shot dead by a Jew and that was in Ramadan 1414AH.
