References on Shariah

Question:

I want references about aims and wisdoms of Shariah with only the names of the books. Thank you.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

The most famous books which have been written about the objectives of the Sharee'ah are:

- Maqasid Al-Sharee'ah Al-Islaamiyah, written by the scholar Al-Tahir Ibn Ashur.

- Al-Maqasid Al-'Aamah Lish-Sharee'ah Al-Islaamiyah, written by Doctor Yousuf Hamid Al-'Aallam.

- Nadhariyat Al-Maqaasid 'Inda Ash-Shaatibi, written by Ahmed Al-Rayssouni.

On the other hand, the Islamic studies section of the faculty of literature, at Al-Qadi Iyad University in Beni Millal city, Morocco, organized an international conference between the 20th-22nd February 2001, about the objectives of the Sharee'ah (maqaasid ash-sharee'ah) and their application in Islamic studies. Many surveys were presented on this issue.

All of these references are available in Arabic only.

Allaah Knows best.
