Reading the Quran whilst wearing clothes that do not cover all the body

Question:

Is it permissible to read the Quran with sleeping clothes which may not cover all the body?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

Yes, it is permissible to read the Quran with sleeping clothes even if they do not cover the ‘Awrah (parts of the body that must be covered in Islam). However, it is better for a person to beautify himself when reading the Quran as he is addressing his Lord.

Allaah Knows best.
