Is playing a video game where there are people who wear shorts that are a little above the knee haram? I know that this is showing the awrah, but does the same ruling stand.

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

The view that we adopt here at Islamweb with regard to games in which there are exposed images is that looking at drawn images is different from looking at real images and that if the image that appears in the game does not result in corruption or temptation when seeing it, then there is nothing wrong with looking at it, and, therefore, playing with it; otherwise it is forbidden.
