Said a Vulgar Word when Referring to Marriage

Question

AsalamualaykumI want to ask you about something I said long time ago which I just remembered and I’m ashamed ofAbout 10Years ago I joked to a freind we need to get some “halal pussy (vagina) . Pussy is slang for vagina. Is this kufr and do I need to renew my nikkah. Please could you answer with direct reply rather than past example. I would never had said it if I thought it was kufr, i probably said my shadah during a prayer around the time so would that put me back in islam if I did kufrJazakAllah khair

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

What you said is not Kufr (disbelief) at all. You are a Muslim – praise be to Allah – and this word does not take you out of Islam.

However, you have to choose your words, take care of the etiquettes enjoined by the Sharee’ah, and avoid obscenity in your sayings. If you mean by that phrase the need for marriage, then if you had expressed yourself by saying: ‘We need to get married’, then this would be more appropriate and does not contradict the polite and well-mannered etiquettes enjoined by the Sharee’ah on the Muslim.

Allah Knows best.
