Providing Hospitality to non-Muslim Guests

Question

I married an Indian Muslim and live in India. My question is, is it permissible to receive Hindu families at home and talk for hours, knowing that their women are clothed and naked? My other question is is it permissible for a Muslim to seclude himself with a woman in a café under the pretext of work, knowing that she is not veiled no hijab. My best wishes

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessing be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family, and all his companions.

There is nothing wrong with providing hospitality to non-Muslim families if you are safe from harm in that. The Non-Muslim guest is to be honored in the same way as the Muslim guest. The religious texts speak about this in general. Ibn Qudamah said in Al-Mughni: “(Imam) Ahmed said: hosting is a duty on all Muslims towards every guest; it was said, “what if the guest was a disbeliever, should he be welcomed?” He said [The Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “It is a duty on every Muslim to provide hospitality to a guest for a night.” This Hadith is about hosting the guest in general, and it is an indication to host the Non-Muslim in the same way as the Muslim.

As for unveiled women (without Hijab), you can host them and sit with them, provided that you take all precautions in order to avoid mixing of men and women, as well as not looking at forbidden parts of their bodies that might be exposed. It is not permissible for you to unveil to them parts of your body beyond what is allowed to, so you must cover yourself in front of them except for what normally appears from your body when carrying your household duties.

You should take advantage of this opportunity to call them to Islam with wisdom and good advice by encouraging them to Islam and showing to them the beauty, tolerance, and lenience of Islam by being a good example.

As for the second question, please resend it in a separate question, as for the website's policy.
