The ruling of Seeking Refuge (Al-'Isti'aadhah) when reciting Qur'an

Question

Is ta'awuz to be done before every ayah when reciting/how often? What are the awrahs of my children to be covered at what ages for boys and girls? Thanks so much.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu`alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

Seeking Refuge (Al-'Isti'aadhah) when you start the recitation is recommended and not obligatory according to the view of the majority of scholars, and it is not required during the recitation unless the reciter cuts his recitation and engages in something other than recitation, then, in this case, it is recommended to repeat Al-'Isti'aadhah because it takes the same ruling as the one who starts the recitation. We apologize to the questioner for not answering his second question. However, he can resend it separately, because our website policy is not to join two questions about different subjects in one question.

Allah knows best.
