Superiority of the Prophet, sallallaahu`alayhi wa salla, over other Prophets

Question

I said that prophet Muhammad is better than prophet esa and that there is no doubt about it. Is this an act as does this count as looking down on a prophet.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu`alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

There is no doubt that our Prophet Muhammad, sallallaahu`alayhi wa sallam, is superior to Allah's Prophet, Jesus, peace be upon him. In fact, our Prophet, sallallaahu`alayhi wa sallam, is superior to all the prophets - peace be upon them all. Al-Qadhi 'Iyyad may Allaah have mercy upon him said in Al-Shifaa': “It was established from the evidence of the Qur’an, the authentic narrations, and the Consensus that he is the most generous of human beings and the best of the prophets.

Al-Bujayrami may Allaah have mercy upon him a Shaafi’i scholar, said in his al-Hashiyah ala al-Khateeb: “The best of all creation is our prophet, then Al-Khaleel (Abraham), then Al-Kaleem (Moses), then Jesus, then Noah, then the rest of the messengers, then the prophets, then the messengers among the angels, then the rest of them, then the righteous believers.

What you have said is true, and it is not considered as looking down on the prophet of Allah, Jesus, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

Allah knows best.
