Time Period Between Nūḥ and Ibrāhīm

Question

Assalamu Alakium
I recently read a fatwa on this website regarding the time period betwen Adam and Abraham, being 10 qarn between Adam and Noah and another 10 qarn between Noah and Abraham, it was said that it is possibly more than 10 because some scholars restricted these to time periods in which people were only worshipping Allah and were on Islam, does this only refer to the time period between Adam and Noah, or does it also refer to the time period between Noah and Abraham.
Jazkallah khairu

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

As for the possibility that the period was more than ten centuries, some scholars mentioned this regarding the interval between Adam and Nūḥ, may Allaah exalt their mention. Ibn Kathīr may Allaah have mercy upon him said in Al-Bidāyah wa-l-Nihāyah: "However, this does not preclude it being more, based on the fact that Ibn 'Abbas specified it with Islam; for there may have been other later centuries between them that were not upon Islam. But the hadith of Abu Umamah indicates a restriction to ten centuries, and Ibn 'Abbas added that they were all upon Islam." (End of quote)

We do not know of any scholar who said something similar regarding the period between Nūḥ and Ibrāhīm, may Allaah exalt their mention, but the matter is possible in that case as well.
