Question
Is it permissible for men to wear diamonds, platinum and gold plated items (watch, sunglasses, etc.)?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the World; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
It is unlawful for the man to wear gold plated glasses, watches and the like. The reason is the clear evidence that forbids men to wear anything made of gold. But the things made of platinum or diamonds are lawful for men.
