Question
I do not know Arabic. But still I want to read and memorize some parts of Qur'an and Ahadeeth. Can you guide me?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
We ask Allah, the Exalted to help you understand and memorize the Qur'an and Sunnah of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam).
Then, it is easy to accomplish such a task as long as you have good intention and you aim to please Allah, the Great and Almighty.
Here are some practical steps that - Insha Allah - will help you:
1- Make a daily practical schedule. In other words, you are advised to specify one or two pages and two or four Hadith to be memorized a day, i.e. according to your ability.
2- Make sure that you recite (read) correctly before memorization. You need to study with the help of some qualified person.
3- Review the previous part you have memorized.
4- Begin memorizing the easy portions of the Qur'an and Hadith, i.e. as portions 30 and 29 and 'the forty Hadith of Imam al-Nawawi ' and 'Bulugh al-Maram.'
