Question
Is it permissible to believe the people who interpret dreams?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.
There is no doubt that Allaah The Almighty may inspire some of His slaves with the interpretation of dreams. Allaah Says (what means): {And thus, We established Yoosuf (Joseph) in the land that We might teach him the interpretation of events.} [Quran 12:21] Mujaahid 
and others stated that the verse refers to the interpretation of dreams. The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, used to interpret his own dreams and those of his companions, may Allaah pleased with them, about which he, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, was asked. A group of the righteous predecessors were famous for interpreting dreams, such as Ibn Seereen and others.
Accordingly, it is permissible to believe the interpretation of dreams made by someone who is well-known for his truthfulness, religiousness and correctness in interpretation. You should note that rulings may not be deduced from dreams nor should future matters be based on them. All that we can say is that the good part of a dream is glad tidings that may serve as an indicator.
